I decided to minimize the page and keep it simple. All I put is the word “reminiscence” because people naturally look back into the most happiest moment in their lives, such as childhood life. It illuminates problems in the present and shows who we are, our existence.. All those collections refer to childhood life, reminiscence their inner life experiences and put all those pieces together. The background color is light blue and the text is white. According to Buddhism, blue sky limitlessness our clear luminous mind, silent illumination. While cloud symbolic for expansiveness thoughts and mind of blue sky, without white clouds, its timeless, luxurious and warm. Thinking back leaves everything timeless, luxurious and warm. So it’s the metaphor for the sky above and the sky within us. It can also represents yourself and how you are bound by behaviors that limits you. Getting back to the journey of remembering and knowing yourself again.

This is the first thing that you will be seeing when you open the book. I name this work, “Le vent nous portera” or in English, “The wind carries us.” Intellectually, we know what we want. We want to change our lives, to be happy satisfied and fulfill. We know we don’t have the real ‘freedom.’ However, we only know these things intellectually, not emotionally. It’s like feelings inside our guts. We know that if things aren’t right we should change but we don’t have feelings that it’s a must. In your childhood life, we know that sometimes what we have doesn’t satisfied us and doesn’t have the freedom to do what we want but we choose to not change, so we blend in with other people and follow what other people expect us to be. We are feathers, wind is the journey we take. There is hope in the feathers, only the real feathers that will float and glide with the wind. Only few people that would step up and become independent, becoming the real feather. Even though the colors, or also can be said at the path isn’t as good as others, but that separates you from other people. Freedom when you reminiscence and wander into your happiest moments in your life.

This is the second page in the book, in the picture it contains flowers, nature. Dead flowers and glass bottle, bits and pieces. Also can be said ‘nature versus nurture.’ It makes us who we are. Environment (nativism) or how we are raised (behaviorism). Flowers represent us, human. Might sound clich􃽴, but can’t really deny that its true. So the name of the picture is “Remnents.” Because everyone is different, not everyone is flowers. We are different since our genes, physical, personality, and childhood. Some people are limited to do things, maybe from outside world or maybe from yourself. So we put ourselves into a box or a glass to limit our lives out from fear, perfection or future. We come up with logical yet illogical rules for ourselves and surrender to who we are. Time doesn’t wait for anyone, we can’t stop it, so as we can’t stop death. There is a quote

“Dasein cannot outstrip the possible of death. Death is the possibility of the absolute impossible of Dasein.” – Martin Heidegger (1889-1976.)

“The shadow of your smile” is the name of the picture. Shadow is involved with all things. It requires light, otherwise it can’t be seen. In this case, referring to happiest memory, it will definitely contain smile. Even though it becomes memory but there shadow of the smile will always be there. Black and white, good and bad. We consider something is good when we like it or base on morality. Because everyone’s standard of measuring what is bad and what is good is different. So I arrange the stone differently. On the top, it arranges from black to white.. In the middle, there’s a ‘neutral” color which can represents purity because some people don’t believe in pure white or dark black. It’s a shade of gray. The last role starts from white to black. Those arrangements can represent people’s inner-self. Some people can start from being black (corrupted and dirty) changes to white (pure and clean) and opposite goes to the last role.

“Beyond Good and Evil. At least this doesn’t mean ‘beyond good and bad.” – Fredrich Wilheim Nietzsche (1844-900.)

This is the last page of the book, “Passages”, times from certain elements. Rocks, shells, and grass. Each things represent things in each places and time. Rocks are on the land, Shells are on the land and so do grass. When you are young, we have our parents as our shells, taking care of us and protect us from the outside world. Different parents, different ways of being raise and shape. Rocks represent education, how we are shape from the outside world. We might learn from it a little or a lot. Then we move on and face the next stage of our lives. Meeting new people, because everyone has raise differently and so we have different personality. Grass is the journeywork of the start, so we can say that grass is everything. The start and the beginning for our life path.

“So grass is a metaphor for life, and for death, and for equality, and for connectedness, and for children, and for God, and for hope.” – John Green, Paper Towns.
